Upon entering Main Street in Disneyland a sign reads;
“Here you step into a world of Yesterday, Tomorrow and
fantasy”
Disneyland in Anaheim California was Walt Disney’s first
attempt at an amusement park. It was constructed at a (then staggering) 17
million dollars. It was contracted in exactly one year, to the day.
For some who may not know, Disneyland consists of Themed “lands”
that are all uniquely different. Fantasyland, Tommorowland, Fronteeirland, Adventureland,
New Orleans Square, Critter Country and toontown.
Disneyland attracts 17 million guests a year, making it one
of the most popular theme parks in the world. But what separates Disneyland California
from all the other Disney parks? I believe that it is the charm of it.
Disneyland California is the only Disney Park that was designed and built under
Walt Disney’s supervision.
In the window just above the fire hall on main street U.S.A,
there is a Lamp that has been turned on ever since Walt Disney’s Death. This symbolizes
Walt’s Presence, and it’s as-if he’s still there in the park, still making sure
everything is going smoothly.
"You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality." -Walt Disney
